Construction begins on White Deer - Skellytown Lighthouse Food Pantry

Construction began Oct. 16 on the new White Deer - Skellytown Lighthouse Food Pantry when the old library was torn down to make way for expansion. Groundbreaking on the 40 foot by 60 foot building was Oct. 19.

When construction is complete, the facility will have five sets of shelves, a work table to package food, a stainless steel double sink, two bathrooms, an office and a large waiting room for the clients. The storage area will be equipped with a walk-in cooler and freezer to handle produce when available. Information: (806) 883-6100.
