I expect your attention when I am ready to start the lesson.
Your paper will have the appropriate heading on it on every assignment.
Do not ask to go to the bathroom during class.
You have 5 minute passing periods.
Do not ask to go to another class to work on something else during class.
You may work on another teacher’s work when you are caught up or finished with mine.
You will need your book, notebook paper, pen, map colors everyday in class.
If we use them that day
and you do not have them, it will be a daily grade of zero.
When we watch a film in my class, you
will have an assignment over it.
Keep your head off of your desk.
I will not try to determine if you are sleeping.
especially during a film. I won’t show you a film that you don’t need to see.
If an assignment is due, it is late if turned after the beginning of the period.
I will dismiss you from my class.
The bell does not mean to get up and leave.
Political cartoons must be colored to be complete.
Maps are incomplete unless the entire map is colored.
No name on an assignment is just like a late paper, a 70 is the maximum grade.
On test days, I allow no talking during a test.
No Exceptions.
Answers on tests that cannot be read are not graded.
T and F that cannot be read are wrong.
Cheating on a test will result in a zero and a discipline referral.

You will not be allowed to go to your locker to get your materials. On the second time your materials do not get to class with you, it will become a Daily Grade of a Zero and a Discipline referral.
Daily Work: Any work counted as daily work will be given one (1) grade.
This can be participation, class discussion, homework, films or other assignments.
Tests: Any Chapter Tests, Section Pop Quizzes, Film Tests, Projects or Political Cartoons will be given a TEST GRADE and will count as two (2) grades.
Late Work: Late work is accepted on the first day only! One day late = Highest grade possible is a 70. It will be graded as any other paper. No work will be accepted after the 1st day late or The number of corresponding days a student has been absent. Example: A student has missed 2 days due to illness. The student will be given two days to complete the assigned work he/she has missed…….IF……the student comes and finds out what they have missed. If a day has passed before the student comes to find out what they owe, they now have only one day to turn it in. I ALWAYS mark this in my grade book, so I know when a student has been gone.
Extra-Credit: : I will hold the discretion of allowing extra credit or not. No extra credit will be given in the last week of a six weeks. If a student has any zero’s, extra credit will not be given. I am inclined to give extra credit if during the six weeks if a student brings something to class that we are studying or will cover and the other students can benefit from.
Cheating: I will instruct you when you are able to use your partner’s help on an assignment whether it is daily work or a TEST. Any cheating immediately becomes a discipline problem. On Tests, if you are allowing someone to cheat off of you, you will be treated just as the person cheating. Don’t Do It!!!! During Tests, there is to be absolutely NO talking.

Grading Policy for Dual Credit U.S. History:
All Exams for this class will be 50 Questions of Multiple choice.
We will take 4 exams per semester.
The lowest test grade of the first 3 exams will be dropped.
The Final Exam cannot be dropped.
Each exam covers 4-5 Chapters of Material and 6-7 Videos.
We will discuss and review all 50 items for the exams. I require the students to make note-cards on each item for discussion in class and for daily grades. We will turn in about 10 at a time for grades.
We will also view and take quizzes over each of the videos for the exams.
These are also taken as daily grades.
The college test grade is all that counts for the College credit grade. Dr. Farmer will sometimes curve the test grades. We have seen him curve grades from 2-12 pts. on any given test depending on all tests. Sometimes there is no curve. It's his call. Remember, people all over the state of Texas are taking this course.
The High School grade is composed of the College test grade with ten (10) points added for the High School credit. The test grades compose 70 % of the High School grade while 30 % is made up with the daily grades from the Video quizzes, Note-cards and Class Participation. The first 6 weeks grade will be composed of only daily grades because the college will have their first Exam on the Tuesday of our last week of the 6 weeks. We will not get results until the following week.
