Swarb recognized
by Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Sports Committee
Cameron
Swarb was
recognized Thursday, February 21st, by the Amarillo Chamber of
Commerce luncheon as the 1A January Basketball Player of the Month.
Having a big January, Cameron led his team to a 9-1 record and a
District Championship.
Cameron averaged 22.5 points per game in January with games of 28, 31, 26, and a 27 point performance in the deciding game verses Clarendon at the the First United Bank Center @ West Texas A & M University. Swarb also has averaged 5.6 assists per game. One highlight in January was a last second 3 pointer to beat Clarendon at home to take the district lead. Other athletes recognized were Cale Hoffman of Perryton, Skylar Warrick of Wellington, Robert Lee and Courtney Lee of WTA&M University, Lisa Adams of Bushland, Tim Brock of Canadian, Joaquin Saenz of Happy, along with several other athletes including swimmers and soccer players from Amarillo. Each month the Chamber honors area athletes who have excelled in their respective sport. This is the third time the Chamber has honored Cameron, twice for his accomplishments in golf, and now in basketball. |
